據(jù)介紹，吳江擁有規(guī)模龐大的制造業(yè)集群，培育形成了千億級產(chǎn)業(yè)、千億級企業(yè)和千億級市場，目前全區(qū)民營企業(yè)數(shù)量近6萬家、外資企業(yè)1900家左右，其中1家世界500強企業(yè)、4家中國企業(yè)500強、5家中國民營企業(yè)500強。去年全區(qū)地區(qū)生產(chǎn)總值1789億元，一般公共預算收入183.5億元，綜合經(jīng)濟實力繼續(xù)位居全國同類區(qū)域前列。
